Joost Muyle began his career at the Vandemortele Group, first as a patent expert, then responsible for intellectual property, and finally as a member of the Product and Market Development Strategy Committee.
Obtained the qualification of European trademark and design agent in 1996.
He has extensive professional knowledge in trademark, design, and domain name applications, including formal procedures at the Benelux Economic Union Intellectual Property Office and the European Intellectual Property Office.
Before joining De Clercq & Partners, Joost joined the intellectual property private sector in 1999 as a director of Gevers&Partners in Brussels, opened a branch in Ghent, and was appointed as the general manager in 2003. From 2010 to 2011, he served as the Operations Director at Novagraaf in Paris and founded iprmanager in December 2011. Through iprmanager, he developed and launched an electronic platform that enables intellectual property holders and their advisors to monitor and manage their intellectual property in real-time in a reliable, transparent, and cost-effective manner. In 2012, Joost was appointed as a consular judge of the Commercial Court.
In October 2013, Joost became a partner of De Clercq & Partners by merging with iprmanager. Joost leads the trademark, design, domain name, and copyright activities of De Clercq & Partners.
